A database management system(DBMS) is a collection of interrelated data and a set of programs to access those data. The collection of data --- usually referred to as database , contains information relavant to an enterprise. A database management system stores data in such a way that, it becomes easier to retrive, manipulate and produce information. A primary goal of a DBMS is to provide a way to store and retrive database information that is both convenient and use.
